Scholarships

As part of its mission, Springfield Ballet is pleased to offer tuition and pointe shoe scholarships for children ages seven and older who have a strong passion for and desire to study ballet. No previous dance experience is needed to apply; Springfield Ballet trains students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Interested students must complete a detailed application, exhibit talent and potential, and attend an audition class in order to be considered for tuition and/or pointe shoe scholarships. Applicants should be willing to maintain a committed training schedule. Limited funds are available each semester for partial, or in some cases full, scholarships.

Summer and Fall 2024 Scholarships and Work-Study Grants:
Applications for Summer and Fall 2024 Scholarships (need-based), Male Work-Study Grants (merit-based, age 10+) and Female Work-Study Grants (merit-based, in Ballet 5A+ and in 9th-12th grade) are now open.    

 

Springfield Ballet announces scholarship program auditions for children ages seven and older who have a strong passion and desire for ballet. No previous dance experience needed to apply and the applicant must be at least seven years old by August 1, 2024.

Summer 2024 scholarships are only awarded to dancers in Ballet 3A+ and can only be applied to the Junior or Senior Intensives.

Work-study grants are merit-based and are available to males age 10+ and to female high school students entering 9th-12th grade and in Ballet 5A+.

Summer and Fall 2024 Scholarship and Work-Study Grant Application

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY TUESDAY, APRIL 16 AT 5:00PM

All auditions will be held at Springfield Ballet. Applicants with no previous dance experience should contact Ashley Paige Romines, Artistic Director, by April 12, 2024 to set up an audition and assessment. Applicants with previous dance experience should bring their completed application to the appropriate audition date listed below:

Ages 7-12 (Level: Ballet 1): Saturday, April 20, 9:30-10:30am (Studio B)

Approximate ages 7-14 (Level: Ballet 2A & 2B): Saturday, April 20, 10:50am-12:05pm (Studio C)

Approximate ages 8 and up (Level: Ballet 3A): Wednesday, April 17, 5:20-6:50pm (Studio C)

Approximate ages 9 and up (Level: Ballet 3B & 4A): Wednesday, April 17, 6:55-8:25pm (Studio C)

Approximate ages 11 and up (Level: Ballet 4B and up, en pointe): Thursday, April 18, 5:15-7:15pm (Studio A)

 

 

Pointe Shoe Scholarships:
Applications for Fall 2024 Pointe Shoe Scholarships will open in August.  Eligibility requirements include being a dancer placed at the Ballet 4B+ level, studying en pointe, and having an impeccable attendance record.


Community Scholarship:
Springfield Ballet is proud to offer the Community Scholarship dedicated to serving BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students who are interested in studies of dance. Applications for Winter/Spring 2024 have closed.
